**New Eva Tulene Watt/First People's Scholarship for Indigenous North Americans/American Indians**

*In honor of Apache elder Eva Tulene Watt,

whose family story is published in "Don't Let the Sun Step Over You,"the Southwest Oral History Association (SOHA) has established a First Peoples Scholarship.* *The purpose of the scholarship is to provide assistance to help indigenous oral history practitioners attend and participate in the annual SOHA conference.*

*The 2007 SOHA conference will be held April 20-22 in Fullerton, California. *

*An award of up to $500 will be made, the amount to be determined by the relative cost of travel to the conference. Registration fees for the conference will also be waived.*

To apply, please submit the following information:

A. Cover letter, including your name, address, telephone number, and email.

B. Brief description of your relationship to indigenous communities in North America

C. Brief description of your oral history work

D. Rationale

E. What is your estimated travel expense to attend the 2007 conference in Fullerton, California?

F. One letter of recommendation
